Bogdona Alekseeva

Originally from Donetsk, Ukraine, Bogdana Alekseeva developed a love for ballet at a very young age. When Bogdana was thirteen years old, she was accepted to the Belorussian State College of Choreography in Minsk. She studied advanced ballet and graduated in 2019 with a degree in classical dance and choreographic art. After graduation, Bogdana accepted a contract with the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she danced until the war in Ukraine began.

Bogdana has danced roles in Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, La Bayadère, Chopiniana, Giselle, Mystery of the Vienna Woods, Paquita, One Thousand and One Nights, Raymonda, and Coppélia. In addition to dancing in the state theater in Ukraine, Bogdana has toured the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, and Belarus while performing in several ballet tours and has danced under contract at the Romanian State Opera in Bucharest.

Bogdana looks forward to continuing to pursue her passion for ballet despite the uncertainty that the war in Ukraine has created. She wishes to thank Sharon McCormick for the opportunity to teach advanced classes at the Lake Arrowhead School of Dance in the interim.
