Annual Spring Showcase

Each June, Lake Arrowhead School of Dance proudly presents our Annual Spring Showcase, a special performance celebrating the accomplishments of our dancers after a year of dedication, growth, and hard work.

The Spring Showcase provides students enrolled in our performing elective classes the opportunity to share what they have learned throughout the dance season in front of family and friends. From their first routines to more advanced performances, dancers gain valuable stage experience while building confidence, teamwork, and lasting memories.

The Showcase is one of the most anticipated events of the year—a fun and rewarding experience for our dancers, instructors, volunteers, and audiences alike. We look forward to celebrating another wonderful season together each June.

Performance Dates: Held annually in June (specific dates announced each season).


Parent Information

The Annual Spring Showcase is a special performance that highlights the talents of our elective dance classes. Traditional ballet classes do not participate in the Spring Showcase, as ballet students perform in separate productions throughout the year.

Only students enrolled in eligible elective classes will perform.

Class Enrollment

To participate in the Annual Spring Showcase, students must be enrolled in a performing class by August of the current dance season. This allows adequate time for choreography, costume planning, and rehearsals throughout the year.

Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is essential during recital season. Class time serves as rehearsal time, and every student plays an important role in each routine. Please make every effort to have your child attend every class from the beginning of choreography through the performance. Students who accumulate more than two (2) absences, particularly during April and May, may be removed from the performance at the instructor’s discretion.

Recital Fee

A Recital Fee of $20.00 per dancer (subject to change) is required for all participating students.

The recital fee, along with a signed Recital Contract (distributed in February), must be submitted by the designated deadline.

Dress Rehearsal & Performance Location

Both the Dress Rehearsal and the Annual Spring Showcase are held at: San Manuel Performing Arts Center @ Aquinas High School
2772 N. Sterling Ave.
San Bernardino, CA 92404

Specific dates, rehearsal schedule, and arrival times will be distributed as the performance approaches.

Tickets

Ticket sale information will be announced approximately one week before tickets go on sale.

Please watch your email, the studio website, and social media for the official ticket sale announcement.

Picture Day (Optional)

An optional Picture Day will be held at the studio prior to the performance.

A sign-up sheet with available appointment times will be posted at the front desk closer to the event.

Costumes

Our instructors carefully select costumes that are both performance-appropriate and as economical as possible. Receiving costumes is always an exciting part of the performance experience!

Please note:

  • Costumes are designed specifically for the stage and are not tailored like everyday clothing.
  • Most costumes contain very little extra seam allowance for alterations.
  • Pants typically feature enclosed elastic waistbands.
  • Some costume pieces—including tutus, fringe, straps, bows, or accessories—may arrive unattached and will need to be fitted or secured by a parent while the dancer is wearing the costume.

We appreciate your assistance in making sure costumes fit properly and are performance-ready.

Backstage Volunteers

Our Annual Spring Showcase would not be possible without the incredible support of our parent volunteers. We rely on dedicated Dressing Room Volunteers to help ensure every dancer has a fun, organized, and stress-free performance experience. Thank you for helping make this special day a success!

Dressing Room Volunteers (Women Only)

Dressing Room Volunteers play an important role in keeping dancers safe, prepared, and on schedule throughout the performance.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Arrive prior to your assigned call time to help set up the dressing area and welcome dancers as they check in.
  • Help dancers change into and out of their costumes.
  • Keep your assigned group together at all times.
  • Escort your group to the restroom and snack table as needed.
  • Provide quiet activities to help keep younger dancers entertained between performances.
  • Clean and organize the dressing area after the performance.

Dressing Room Guidelines

To help ensure a safe and organized backstage environment, please observe the following:

  • No siblings or infants are permitted in the dressing rooms.
  • No food or drinks are allowed inside the dressing rooms. Water is permitted.
  • If bringing activities for your group, please choose items that are clean and mess-free. Markers, paint, glitter, slime, or anything that could stain costumes are not permitted.
  • Help maintain a calm, positive atmosphere for all dancers and follow directions from studio staff at all times.

A Backstage Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet will be available at the front desk as the performance approaches. We encourage parents to volunteer—your time and support make a tremendous difference and help create a wonderful experience for every dancer.
