Dress Code

Our dress code is designed to ensure the safety, comfort, and success of every dancer. Proper attire allows instructors to accurately assess technique and helps students move safely and confidently. Students are expected to arrive prepared for class; those who do not meet dress code requirements may be asked to sit out and observe.

Ballet

Girls/Women: Leotard (any solid color), pink or white tights, and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be pulled back in a tight bun.

Boys/Men: Black tights or black ballet pants, a white T-shirt, and black or white ballet slippers.

Additional Footwear & Attire:

  • Character shoes, ballet skirts, and pointe shoes may be worn as applicable to the class level and instructor requirements.
  • Tight-fitting leg warmers are permitted at the barre.

For safety and proper instruction, sweatpants, tear-away/plastic pants, crop tops, and jewelry are not permitted.

Jazz, Tap & Musical Theater

Students should wear a leotard with tights, dance shorts, bike shorts, jazz pants, or leggings. A fitted T-shirt may be worn in place of a leotard when paired with dance shorts, bike shorts, jazz pants, or leggings. Hair must be securely pulled back and away from the face.

Required Footwear:

  • Jazz & Musical Theater: Jazz shoes
  • Tap: Tap shoes

For safety and proper instruction, sweatpants, tear-away/plastic pants, loose-fitting shorts, crop tops, and street clothing are not permitted.

Acro-tumbling

Students should wear a leotard with tights, dance shorts, bike shorts, leggings, or fitted athletic pants. A fitted T-shirt or athletic top may be worn in place of a leotard when paired with dance shorts, bike shorts, leggings, or fitted athletic pants. Hair must be securely pulled back away from the face.

Required Footwear:

  • Bare feet, unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
